About The Visa

What The Student Visa Subclass 500 Covers

The Subclass 500 Student visa is a temporary visa that allows international students to live in Australia while studying full-time with a registered Australian education provider. You can apply from inside or outside Australia, and you do not need a separate visa sponsor. However, you must meet the relevant eligibility requirements, provide the required evidence and comply with your visa conditions. The visa allows you to study your approved course and may allow you to work, subject to the work conditions that apply to your visa. Eligible family members, including your partner or dependent children, may also be included in your application or apply to join you later.

The Subclass 500 visa also allows multiple travel to and from Australia while the visa remains valid, subject to its conditions. After completing your course, you may have access to further visa options, such as graduate, skilled or employer-sponsored pathways, depending on your qualification and circumstances. These pathways are not automatic, so it is important to understand your study, work and future visa options before making your application.

Eligibility Requirements

Core Requirements For Approval

Genuine Student & Enrolment

A valid Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) in a registered course is required, together with a written response that satisfies the Genuine Student requirement.

Health, Character & English

Applicants must meet Australia's health and character requirements, which may include health examinations and police clearances.

Finances & Health Cover

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial capacity to cover course fees, living costs and travel for themselves and any accompanying family members.

Our Process

A Structured Four Stage Application Process

Establishing the right course and visa strategy.

We assess your education background, intended course and objectives, and check how your Confirmation of Enrolment supports your visa application before any preparation begins.

  •       Review of previous study, qualifications and any study gaps
  •       Verification of the provider’s CRICOS registration and course accreditation
  •       Assessment of course packaging where multiple qualifications are combined
  •       Review of intake dates against visa processing timeframes
  •       Confirmation of work condition eligibility relevant to your course level
  •       Early identification of any factors that may affect the outcome

This stage sets the direction for the rest of the application, so any concerns about eligibility are addressed before further preparation begins.

Preparing a clear, evidence-based Genuine Student response.

The Genuine Student requirement carries significant weight in a Student Visa decision. We prepare a structured statement that connects your study choice, career direction and personal circumstances.

  •       Drafting a statement aligned to your chosen course and career plans
  •       Addressing ties to your home country and reasons for return
  •       Explaining relevant employment history or study gaps where applicable
  •       Addressing any prior visa refusals or immigration history, where relevant
  •       Reviewing the statement against current departmental assessment factors

The finished statement is reviewed with you before it is finalised, so it accurately reflects your own circumstances rather than a generic template.

Compiling a complete, verified supporting file.

We prepare and check every document the application requires, coordinating with family members, sponsors or your education provider where their evidence is needed.

  •       Passport, identity documents and certified academic transcripts
  •       English language test results, where required
  •       Financial evidence, tuition receipts and accommodation information
  •       Arrangement of Overseas Student Health Cover for the visa period
  •       Certified translations for documents not issued in English
  •       Evidence for accompanying family members, where included
  •       Health examinations and police clearances where requested

Every document is cross-checked against the requirements of your specific course and provider before it is added to your file.

Submitting the application and managing it through to a decision.

Once the file is complete, we lodge the application and manage all correspondence with the Department until a decision is reached.

  •       Final compliance check before submission
  •       Lodgement of the Student Visa application
  •       Response to any request for further information within Departmental timeframes
  •       Notification to the Department of any change in circumstances
  •       Regular updates on processing progress
  •       Guidance on visa conditions and next steps once a decision is made

Our involvement continues until a final decision is issued, and we explain what that decision means for your study plans. Together, these four stages are designed to give your application the best possible foundation, from your first consultation through to the outcome.
